Hello everyone,
Our company uses two Cat 6509 chassis in VSS mode each having it’s own FWSM-2 module. Recently one of these modules failed and we sent it to a non-official hardware repair company to be repaired. This module had 100 virtual context licenses. As result the module is repaired and is working properly but it came out that the virtual context license number is not as what it was before we sent it to be repaired.
As the previous administrator of our company was the one who registered and activated licenses for these devices and he’s not our employee anymore, we can not activate the licenses again.
So we wanted to know if it is possible for you to guide us through this problem.
Thank you in advance.

For RMAs handled through Cisco, it's only a mail to licensing@cisco.com, telling them that the license has to be resend for a new serial-number.
Have you already asked the repair-company? They should be aware of the problem and tell you what needs to be done.

Hi Karsten,
Thank you for your response. I told the repair company and they told me that they haven't done anything related to licensing.
So if I email them they'll provide me with the activation key?

Is the serial-number of the FWSM still the same? If yes, then you can apply the original activation-key. If not, try to email licensing@cisco.com. But I don't think that it will work if the module is not under support.

Yes, the serial number is the same as before. I emailed them but they haven't replied yet, I hope they consider my case serious.
Thanks you for your reply.

Try to find the original mail from cisco with the activation-key. Mails like these should have been archived.
