how to recover a password on standby asa 5520

hi

can someone help me with this? i have a active/standby pair of asa 5520's, i can access the active asa but not the standby asa via console,

i have tried the password recovery on the standby unit but it does not work, do i need to remove the unit from the network to become a standalone unit to perform the recovery?

Hi Sean,

They are two different issues, are you not able to access ASA through console or the password for login doesn't work.

The first one would not even give you any prompt for login.

The password should be the same that you use for you active firewalls, because they share exactly the same configuration.
