Hi there,
I been finding this community very supportive even when I ask quite basic things.
I have 5520 and I need to route traffic to ASDM using BVI interface.
My BVI is 10.1.1.1 and ASDM is 10.1.1.2. In routed mode I have no problem.
I can only add a route from inside interface which has no IP address.
When I try to ping 10.1.1.2 i get no route.
Plz assist.
Thank you so much in advance.

Hi,
As i pointed out earlier , BVI is the management IP address for the ASA device.
If you want to access the ASDM on the ASA device , it will be done on the BVI ip itself.
If you are accessing the ASDM fro a different Layer 3 Subnet as compared to the BVI address , then you would need to put in a route on the ASA device for that to allow the management connections.
Thanks and Regards,

If Vibhor's statement does not help solve your issue then please post a network diagram of how your ASA is located in your network in relation to the PC you are using to manage it. Please be as detailed as possible and include all device IPs. Also, include a sanitized running config of your ASA.
As Vibhor has mentioned already, the IP address you have assigned to the BVI interface is the management IP you should be using to access the ASA (be that either SSH or ASDM).
Make sure you have the ASDM image installed on the ASA and that the ASA is configured to be managed using the ASDM.
