How to split Internet Bandwidth in ASA 5520 Firewall?

Hi,

Our office has purchased 4Mbps speed of leasedline. Now management has instructed me to split this 4mbps into following manner:

2mbps for Internet users

2mbps for Mail Server which is located in DMZ zone.

My Firewall specs:

Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance Software Version 8.2(1)
Device Manager Version 6.2(1)

Can anyone tell me how will i achieve the above mentioned issue?

You can do this with QoS. Have a look at this document elsewhere on CSC - specifically the traffic policing example.

In your example, match traffic from your mail server with an ACL that's the first class-map. The second class-map is the rest of the traffic. Each is then then used in a policy map where you police the rates consistent with the bandwidth limits you mentioned. You then apply the policy map to your egress (outside) interface.
