Re: IDS v4 Signature deploy failure

I'm having issues deploying S174 to a version 4 sensor via IDSMC. I gert the following error message: Signature Update Process

An error occurred while running the update script on the sensor named IDS10. Detail = An RDEP communication error occurred during the update. Exception message = org.apache.commons.httpclient.HttpRecoverableException: Error in parsing the status line from the response: unable to find line starting with "HTTP"

I check the sensor "sho version" and it reports the the webserver is running. I restart all processes and try again, same error. I've cold started the sensor, same error. I even downgraded signature revs and tried, same error.

Anyone have any ideas? I can push filter changes via the IDSMC with no problem.

Bob - I not REALLY a VMS guy but I did find a case where upgrading the sensor with the latest patch fixed the problem. Here are recommended steps.

- first re-import the config into the IDSMC

- try to down load the sigs

- if that does work then upgrade the sensor to the lastest 4.1 patch.
