Initial installtion for firepower and cisco ASA

Hi there,

is there any clear guide to install firesight VM appliance with ASA firepower module integration? i found few documents which explains ASA device registration to firesight appliance. i have done properly that. but i amd not clear how to create rules in firesight and apply it on asa device.

Once you register the module to manager using the link below , you should be able to navigate to policy and create/edit policy to make rules for firepower module.

i have gone through documents  and its ok now. also i have addition. when installing firepower license with firesight, we have to install all licenses inside firesight appliance. not in asa firewall. this is the confusion point occurred for me. my environment , i have uses asa 5506x and firesight VM.

You are right. For Firepower modules managed by FMC, the licenses are installed on the FMC and not on ASA.

If you manage the Firepower with ASDM, then the licenses are installed on ASDM.
