Hi,
Can we update IPS signature through a proxy server. Is it required that updates are to be processed through CSM?
Can someone suggest me plz..

Yes, you are correct. IPS signature update via proxy is not supported from the IPS itself, however it is supported via CSM.

You can download the latest firmware from Cisco to a local machine/server & from there you can update the devices. Else you can do a direct firmware upgrade provided the devices are not behind any proxy..

Hi,
As mentioned above, you need to have a valid CCO account which is tied to an IPS services contract with the appropriate devices covered under the contract.
Please confirm if you have those.
