hi,
i plan to build a lab for projects/POC. i have a spare ASA 5506-X and upgraded the ASA code to 9.8.
can i upgrade a "fresh" ASA FirePOWER module directly to 6.2.3 (from 5.4.1)?
is there a TAC "recommended" FP image?
asasfr-5500x-boot-6.2.3-4.img
asasfr-sys-6.2.3-83.pkg
i also plan to install a virtual FMC on a VMware workstation. will this work (just for lab purpose)?
can someone advise which one to use?
can i deploy the VM and directly install 6.2.3?

If you choose to reimage, you can start straight away on 6.2.3 for both FMC and a Firepower service module on an ASA.
Then register the module to FMC and license it.
Upgrade both (FMC first) to the latest patch (6.2.3.4 as of today's date).

hi,
just to confirm, do i need to upgrade both AS FP module and virtual FMC to 5.4.1 > 6.0.0 > 6.0.1 > 6.1.0 > 6.2.3?
