Licensing - Firewall ASA 5516X

Hello, 

When Configuring 2 ASA in HA mode, do we need 1 VPN license per firewall ? or is 1 license enough, since only 1 firewall will be active at any given moment ?

Hi,

You can check the configuration guide of the ASA firewall for the version your are running and you will find license information under Licensing tab.

In all actual deployments, you only need one license for the complete HA-system. Having licenses on both doesn't hurt, but is not needed.

When the ASAs build the HA-system, the licenses are combined to give a system-wide licensing.
