The Cisco Catalyst 8300 Series Edge Platforms are suitable for testing MACsec as they support 256-bit WAN MACSec on their 10G ports. You can use any of the following models within the Catalyst 8300 Series Edge Platforms for your lab testing:

1. C8300-2N2S-4T2X: Catalyst 8300 with 2 Service Module (SM) and 2 Network Interface Module (NIM) slots, and 2 x 10-Gigabit Ethernet and 4 x 1-Gigabit Ethernet ports
2. C8300-1N1S-4T2X: Catalyst 8300 with 1 SM slot and 1 NIM slot, and 2 x 10-Gigabit Ethernet and 4 x 1-Gigabit Ethernet ports

Both of these platforms have 10-Gigabit Ethernet ports that support MACsec, making them suitable for testing MACsec in your lab environment.

Does 8300 support PTMP MACsec? The client has 10G circuits, and the only Catalyst that support PTMP is 9500X but it ony has 40g and 100g SFP option.

i am loooking at 8300 routers, i don't read anywhere that it support Point to MP MACSEC.

Hi

If you want to test MACsec any platform that supports the protocol could be used.  Almost every switch supports it.

The old 3750 could be used.
