Monitoring ASA uptime

Has anyone tried to setup an online monitor so they can see if their ASA firewall or it's VPN gateway is up? Just looking for some ideas on how to do this.

I use out of the box script to get information from ASA and tweak the information as required example :

show version  - give you uptime of the ASA

show crypto session brief    - give you tunnel uptime

I meant from outside of the network. From the web.

But with the customisation yes,  you need to make available that information over web, so you can have access from any where on the internet.

These are information that you can pull with SNMP out of the ASA.
