NAT and PAT on ASA having private ips

Hi, we are having a pair of ASA5520 running ver 9.1. They are connected on the outside to internet routers and on the inside to core switches. Both the outside and inside interface currently have private ips. All static NAT and PAT is currently configured on the internet routers. We plan to move all kind of NAT to the ASA firewalls. Question is - can the ASA do NAT/PAT if it does not have a public ip configured on it`s outside interface?

thnx

Sure !!!

You just need to make sure that the block is routed to the ASA and from there you can do the NAT translations with no issues.
