New 2120 asa upgrade

Hello

I have a new FTD 2120

I have accessed the ASA with ASDM.

I would like to update it, but in the ASDM there is no such option in Device Management menu

Also in cli the boot system disk0:/cisco-asa-fp2k.9.12.4.10.SPA is not accepted.

What am I missing?

Regards,

Konstantinos

Hello,

The chassis had both asa and ftd.

The upgrade was done via the chassis manager and not form the asdm or asa cli!!

Thank you for the help.

Yes I upgraded ASA sw via the chassis manager.

Initially, I accessed the device via ASDM and went to the relevant menu to perform the upgrade. There was not a menu to select boot image.

When I accessed the chassis manager I went to update and there was the ASA and the FTD images.

I uploaded the ASA I wanted and performed the upgrade.

have you checked the FMC / ASDM have the correct version of the matrix.

Upgrade via the FCM is the required procedure for an ASA running on Firepower appliance. The *.SPA images are digitally signed in a way that is only recognized by FCM.
