Hi,
i have configured the email alerts on asa 5520. but am not getting the email alerts on my maid id. Please let me know what i am missing. below is the configuration.
IS there any forwarding required in SMTP server..
I want some results on mail e.g (when some body login to firewall either (ASDM or CLI), when somebody done changes, and when some body login from vpn.
Below is the config present in my ASA 5520
logging enable
logging timestamp
logging list ***** level alerts class auth
logging list ***** level alerts class config
logging list ***** level alerts class vpn
logging list ***** message 111008
logging trap errors
logging asdm informational
logging mail *****
logging from-address ************************
logging recipient-address ***************** level alerts

I beleive on the SMTP server you will need to add the ASA's IP address to be aloowed to send email. I am not sure where or how you do that but I know our Exchange Admin need to that for me.

as stated burleyman, the ASA need to be "Trusted Sender" from the perspective of the SMTP Server, if you had an Exchange Server then add the ASA IP Address to their trusted address if you had Linux Server, same issue.
