ntp in pix

Hi All

Can any one confirm that wether i can enable NTP in pix and have ntp association with ntp master in my network which is also a cisco box configured as ntp master

Hi parthiban

yeah.. u can run NTP in cisco firwall OS more than 6.2.. NTP was introduced in 6.2 IOS.. once you have 6.2, u can configure NTP server IP address and md5 secret and get connected to a NTP server.

example config:

ntp authentication-key 1 md5 ********

ntp trusted-key 1

ntp server 10.0.6.5 key 1 source inside

Thanks for the response.

Could you please tell me where in i have pix in failover and the ntp server is on the inside interface of my firewalls. Here how can i have a ipsec tunnel between my failover boxes. I hope whatever the config i have on my primary active will sync with secondary standby. Should i go to two boxes sep and enable ipsec tunnel for ntp to work with pix.
