I have a PIX 515 and everytime it boots up it give this message,

"IP 66.106.162.154 192.168.1.0 netmask 255.255.255.255 overlapped/redundant with

192.168.1.0 192.168.1.0 netmask 255.255.255.0"

I don't know what is going on with this thing and no matter what I change my IP addesses to it still gives this same message with these IP addresses. Is there any way to restart the FOS from scratch? Is this a possible harware problem I am experiencing? What can I do? Thanks

Hi,

From problem description, it looks like that you are running into overlapping NAT statements.

If you have a static command for 192.168.1.2 and you are doing nat for 192.168.1.1-192.168.1.254 you will need to exclude that host and any hosts you want to have statics for. So it might be easiest to pick a constitent range of statics, then write your nat statement.

IE: static hosts range- 192.168.1.2--192.168.1.9 and then nat (inside) 1 192.168.1.10 192.168.1.254 255.255.255.0 and that should take care of your overlapping nat problem.
