I have PIX-525-R bundle , which had PIX 7.0 IOS and ASDM
installed. I have upgraded upgraded the PIX 7.0 IOS to 7.2(1), during
upgradation there was not enough space in the flash , so i copy the ASDM from
PIX to TFTP server and then i deleted the ASDM from PIX . After that i upgraded
the IOS 7.0 to 7.2, it upgraded successfully, after that i deleted its old IOS
image (i.e 7.0). Now PIX has only IOS image 7.2 in its flash and nothing else
and have almost 8 MB of free flash space.
But when i tried to copy its ASDM file from the TFTP back to PIX, now it is
giving the error " ERROR COPYING TFTP://10.1.1.2/ASDM (NOT ENOUGH SPACE ON
DEVICE) " . Although i have almost 8MB of free space in the flash as shown
in the snap shot, i have taken for your reference and ASDM is of 5,781 KB
(almost 5.8 MB)also shown in the snap shot contain in the folder name
c:\TFTP-Root\PIX Software.
NOw please tell what the problem is this. How can i installed ADSM on PIX
because i think it has enough space to acomodate ASDM easly. Plase tell me
what is going wrong with it and how can i solve the problem.
YOU CAN SEE THE OUTPUT OF " SH FLASH" AND "COPY TFTP: FLASH:
"COMMAND IN THE SNAP SHOT ATTACHED.

That seems very strange.
I see you are using the Solarwinds free tftp server; that generally works well for me.
Have you tried fsck'ing the file system? You would do this by issuing:
fsck flash:
from enable mode. It does a file system check, and I *think* a cleanup at the same time. Worth a go!
Incidentally, shouldn't ASDM be called something like asdm-512.bin, as it is on mine, rather than just asdm?
Maybe a rename to the full version name would help?
HTH- RMIID!

Thanks you very much for your assitance.
Then i though why should i not try to install any other image of ASDM. I download the ASDM 5.21 from cisco and tried it went perfect. SO ,, i conclude that it was not a space issue that was showing by the PIX but an incompatiblity issue of PIX 7.21 with old ASDM , but when i tried ASDM 5.21 on IOS 7.21 it went perfect.
Any nice to work with you .

Hi .
if you lok at your running config do you have an entry similar to this one ..?
asdm image disk0:/asdmXXX.bin
This is the file that needs to be deleted and this is the location the new one need to be copied to.
I hope it helps ... please rate it if it does !!!
