Hi,
We currently have a Pix 506e, the outside ethernet int is connected to our 1720 router ethernet int using a crossover cable. We are in the process of replacing the 506e with a 515e. In the quick start guide it says to use one of the provided patch cables. Could someone confirm the correct cable to use between the 515e and the 1720 and also if connecting using a crossover would have a significant impact?
Many Thanks
J Mac

Between Router and PIX you need crossover cable
When connecting like devices such as a switch to a switch or a PC to a PC use a crossover cable..PIX interface is like NIC card in you PC so if you are connecting PIX interface directly to router (or directly to PC) you need crossovercable, if you connecting PIX to switch you need straight cable...

Hope that helps rate if it does
