Hi guys, I noticed that there is a document regarding securing Cisco routers on cisco.com
Is there a similar best practices type of document for securing PIX firewalls? or even a general firewall best practices guides?
I have been searching but havent really found anything. Any help would be great!

Hi Nathan,
So far, there is no specific doc, but you can get the idea from PIX/ASA documentation itself. This is probably due to the 'secure' nature of the firewall itself (everyone knows it wasn't 100% secure).
Anyway, there is a document on "Firewall Best Practices" at http://www.principlelogic.com.
Others are:
http://www.security.fsu.edu/firewall.cfm
http://searchsecurity.techtarget.com/originalContent/0,289142,sid14_gci838230,00.html
Personally, I think the recommendations are quite good, and can be applied generally to secure most of firewall products.
Hope this helps.
Rgds,
AK
