I'd like to to know if all PIX SW are installable on every HW .
For example I'd like to know if a pix 6.2.2 on a 515 is different from a pix 6.2.2 on a 506 or 501
thanks

The same .bin file is loaded on all h/w platforms, as long as the Pix software supports the hardware.
Note that early Pix are not supported beyond 5.2, and newer models will have a minimum supported level. Read the release notes for full details on platform support.

As mentioned earlier, for the most part PIX SW is the same from the 501 to the 535, with subtle differences in certain models.
For example, you can configured PPPoE on a 501 or 506, but not 515, 525 or 535. The features are already built in to perform Failover on a 515, 525, or 535 if you have the interfaces installed but not on a 506 or 501.
If you download pix622.bin, you could install it on your 501 at home, or your 535 in the core of your network (hardware requirement dependent) and configure them identically if you so chose.
The PDM software is also identical for the PIX 500 Series Firewall, as long as you have the correct amounts of Flash, and RAM you can put the same PDM version on every PIX.
Hope this helps.
