Port channel on Firewall 2110

Hello,

Exploring port-channel configuration on the firewall for redundancy but to my surprise, it not supported on FTD running version 6.3.0-80. require FMC to do it.

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/security/firepower/630/fdm/fptd-fdm-config-guide-630/fptd-fdm-interfaces.html

looking through the configuration guide version 7.0 state below:

  • You cannot configure redundant interfaces.

  • You can only add EtherChannels in FDM on the Firepower 1000 and 2100 series. The Firepower 4100/9300 supports EtherChannels, but you must perform all hardware configuration of EtherChannels in FXOS on the chassis. Firepower 4100/9300 EtherChannels appear in the FDM Interfaces page alongside single physical interfaces

This adds Etherchannel in FDM does it refer to the configuration ?

Your 6.3 device is running quite old software.

With current Firepower versions you can add EtherChannels on all Firepower hardware appliances, both FDM-managed or FMC-managed.

Redundant interfaces are a different construct than EtherChannels.
