I need someone's expertise in helping me resolve this error message. I have looked up the error message and need assistance in resolving this issue. My PIX 515 hangs from time to time and cannot be accessed from inside - only from outside. This error is the only thing I can attribute to the issue. Please advise! Thanks! (See below)
305006: portmap translation creation failed for udp src inside:10.208.151.44/3629 dst outside:129.41.224.5/53

hello soc
This error message just tells that there is no PAT entry on the PIX for the given source and destination.. ie the PAT did not happen for these IPs. I'm really not sure if this could be the reason for the hang... are there any other log messages on the "show log" output ?? any syslog servers on your network ??
YOu can have a look at this URL for the 305006 error message:

Thank you for your quick response! I have read the error message details from the link that you provided and I am still receiving multiple entries in my log for {305006: portmap translation creation failed for udp src inside:10.208.151.44/4457 dst outside:205.152.0.5/53}. Can you explictly state the entry that I would need to make to resolve this issue? Also, I wanted to answer your question - I do have 2 internal syslog servers that the firewall is pointing to. Anything you can do to further help me with this would be of great help. Thanks again!
