Hi,
If you really need to securely dispose the device, then your best option is to get hold of organisations that handle e-waste destruction and ask if they will destroy the device for you.
Thanks

Hi,
Log into the pix 501 and issue the 'write erase' command. Reboot the pix without saving the config.
Hope this helps
Thanks

Hi john,
John, thanks for posting real quick!
Here is the problem, the PIX 501 switch has a password I am unable to type the 'write erase' command. Also I am unable to find the PIX password Lockout utility bin files on the Cisco Website have been removed, in my case need the np63.bin file to add to my local TFTP server where I will call that file to unlock password allowing me to begin purging my PIX 501 Firewall Switch for recycle purposes.
Thanks
