Hello, I am having the following problem with an IDSM-2 module(4.1.5 S211):
I am able to get to the login screen via SSH. I login with my username and password but receive the following Error: Cannot communicate with authenticationApp (getUserAccountConfig). Please contact your system administrator.
Would you like to run cidDump?[no]:_
I can, however, get into the sensor via the service account. I have tried stopping and restarting the CID as well as rebooting the sensor, alas to no avail. At this point the only thing I can see to do is run the recovery partition to reimage the sensor - Is this possible to do from the service account ?

Hi
Are you using the correct username and password set? What about accessing the sensor through telnet and HTTPS?Are you facing the same problem with above all?
If password is correct then the Authantication engine might have been corrupted.
You can reimage the sensor through the service account.
Boot the IDSM-2 to the maintenance partition:
cat6k# hw-module module module_number reset cf:1
Session into the maintenance partition CLI:
cat6k# session slot slot_number processor 1
Log into the maintenance partition CLI:
login: guest
Password: cisco
If this is possible then you can re-image the application partition:
http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/iaabu/csids/csids10/hwguide/hwclipr.htm#wp91045
After re-image we reboot the IDSM-2 to the application partition:
cat6k# hw-module module module_number reset hdd:1
Verify that the IDSM-2 is online and that the software version is correct and that the status is ok:
cat6k# show module module_number
Connect to the IDSM-2 application partition:
cat6k# session slot slot_number processor 1
Than you need to get back your configuration from the backup.
