Removing interface specific service policy make ASA reboot?

I have a client that is claiming when he removed an IPS service policy that was applied to the inside and outside interface (using separate service policys), he lost his connection to the ASA. The client has a pair of ASA's in active/standby, so I was confused as to why he lost his connection. I checked the ASA today when I arrived and it said it had only been up for a little over three days. Before this change was made, the ASA's has been up for about half a year. Also, the ASA's are located in different buildings, so it wouldn't seem likely it would be a power issue. Any ideas?

Thanks.

I have not heard of the FW rebooting upon removing service policy.

1. check the logs. I hope you were logging to a syslog server.

2. issue "sh crash" and see if the firewalls crashed.

3. issue "sh failover history" and see what that says.
