Renaming an interface on a FWSM

i need to rename an interface for one of my DMZ's, if i just use the nameif command with the new name, will that change the name for the access-group and the routes.

No worries

It will change the name for all the relevant commands. Such as

access-group

Nat related commands

telnet

ssh

route

etc....

Ummm,

Very bad advice especially if you are running 3.2.

I did that a while ago and just applying "nameif" doesn't change the name. If you remove the existing name and apply a new one using "no nameif oldname" "nameif new name" "exit" it removes your access-group commands associated with that interface
