Restore a FMC backup on FDM

Hi,

Today I have a Firepower FTD that are managed by a FMC. I want to set up another FTD, but with local FDM management, running the exact same configuration as the other FTD. Would it be possible to take a FMC config or device backup  and then restore it from FDM?

If that's not working, are there any alternatives like using the migration tool?

Thanks

/Chess

I never tried that, FDM is the basic functionality of Management for FTD, FMC is full blow management solution, I do not belive that restore works as expected.

That's not possible. It will have to be manually setup on the new FDM-managed device.

You might want to use a report of the current policy (which will be a PDF listing all of the rules and objects) as your guide. You can create that from the ACP listing - see the little report icon on the right side of the ACP entry.

Thank you both. This is for a lab setup, so it's not really a big issue. We have some smaller customers that dont want to use a FMC, so I thought I should try it and see if all the features I have on my FMC managed device, would work with FDM.

Thanks
