Is it possible to create 2 contexts (FWSM or ASA) such that one context is working on routed mode and the other in transparent mode
Any pointers to configuration examples would be helpful

Hello,
Yes, you can have two contexts with one in routed mode and the other in transparent. Since contexts are "virtual" firewalls, the mode of one context does not affect the other.
Here is a sample configuration of ASA in multiple context:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/hw/vpndevc/ps2030/products_configuration_example09186a00808d2b63.shtml#con1
Here is a transparent firewall sample:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/hw/vpndevc/ps2030/products_configuration_example09186a008089f467.shtml
Here is the configuration guide for multiple context mode:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/security/asa/asa82/configuration/guide/contexts.html
Hope this helps.
