Slow traffic in the tunnel

I have a hardware VPN tunnel from a PIX515e to a PIX501. Traffic in the tunnle is very bad. If I do a "sh crypto isakmp sa" is shows a state of "QM_IDLE". I am not sure if this is a problem? The any ideas on how I can troubleshoot this?

What code are you running ont he PIX515E 6.3 or 7.x ? I had the same issue after I upgraded a pix515e to pix code 7.x. I tried 7.1 and 7.2 code. Everything through a vpn tunnel from another pix 501 was really slow. I downgraded back to 6.3(5) and the tunnels performance was back to normal. (I was going off by what the remote users were saying about there application speeds) Remote vpn's didn't seem to be affected only L2L vpns.

Thanks for your reply. The 515 is Ver 6.3(4) and the 515 is 6.2(2). I was thinking of doing an upgrade to the 501. From your post your 501's are on 6.3(5). I will upgrade and let you know.
