Hi,

What command controls whether or not a hostname includes the FQDN as seen in ASDM?

I have some ASA's that are of the form hostname.domain-name and others that are just hostname when viewing with ASDM.

I would like to get them consistent.

Thanks.

From ASDM, you can check if you have the following domain name configured or not:

Configuration --> Device Setup --> Device Name/Password --> Domain Name

With Domain Name configured, it will show you hostname.domainname under the hostname field.

With Domain Name not configured (blank), it will only show you the hostname.

Hope that helps.
