Temporary License for Virtual Secure Management Center

Here's the situation I'm in: My customer has a virtual FMC that manages the SFR modules in three ASA-5516s. That runs version 7.0 as we have found anything newer doesn't work.

We are in the process of migrating off of the ASAs and onto three 1140s. I want to stand up a new virtual FMC running the recommended 7.6.2 code to configure and manage the new replacements. So for a period of two weeks I will be running both the old and the new virtual FMC side by side.

Does anyone know if I need a license for that and how I would go about getting such a license? Once the migration is done we will be back to just one FMC (the new one), which we are already licensed for, so I don't want to buy a new license.

But when I open a case with Cisco, per the instructions, everyone acts like I'm from Mars.

I have the licenses for the 1140s. This is specifically about a temporary license for the FMC itself.

Hi Ben-

By default, the the FMCv operates in evaluation mode for 90 days. This applies for the FMCv and any managed devices you register. If you need temporary licenses that span longer than 90 days, please reach out to your Cisco account team.

90days trail License should be good here, as long you able to download vFMC
