Unable to access ASA console port

I've got an ASA 5525 that I am not able to access to console and I have no other way to access this. I have another exact model ASA and I can access that one on the console port so I know the cable is good. When I use putty, usually I should see commands start to execute as it starts up. On this one it's just a black screen. This one was a spare in one of our data centers and have been turned off so I have never access it before or I don't know if its had any problems.

Thanks

if not in production, try connecting to network and see if you can gain access with IP address by doing wireshark.

since you mentioned no console, only option i can see this one.

How to Ask The Cisco Community for Help

If you are unable to access the ASA on the console, I would consider it dead and start the RMA process to get it replaced.  No other option

Try this setup for Putty

Serial Line to Connect to:   COM?

Speed (Baud):  9600

Data Bits: 8

Stop Bits: 1

Parity: None

Flow Control: None

The ASA ships with a default configuration that enables Adaptive Security Device Manager (ASDM), so if this is a new box , try to connect yourself to port 0/1 till 0/7(Inside) which you should get an IP address(DHCP is enabled by default on those interfces) and its all bridge under interface bvi, having 192.168.1.1 as an IP address. which then you can access your firewall through ASDM.
