Unable to connect to ASA 5505 console port

Hi All, I am trying to configure an ASA 5505 firewall. I am unable to connect to the console port. Could someone help me on this issue? I tired conencting through the serial port connected to my laptop, It's running windows 7 OS and i downloaded Putty and hyperterminal and both didn't work. Is there any way i can reslove this issue?

Hi,

Make sure you have  the right  Serial port in picked in Putty.

Go to control Panel and check in device manager.

Did you use a serial-to-USB adapter? How about using another PC?
