Dear All,
I have got new cisco ASA 5520 running 7.2(4) on it when i am trying to configure Virtual interface on vlan 809 in Gi0/0.809. When i assigned an IP on same subnet to my laptop and try to ping the ip assigned on the virtual interface i am not able to ping. Please suggest.
Many Thanks,
Saran.

By default the ASA responds to icmp requests unlike the FWSM unless you specifically deny.
capture capin int
you can apply that and see if the packets are arriving from your PC with the below command.
sh cap capin
Make sure the PC doesn't have any firewall turned on - in case you tried pinging from the ASA to the PC.

Have you allowed ICMP?
