I just got 2 Cat6504 Chassis and 2 ASASM pluged in them. show version from submodule ASA as follow:

I want to upgrade new OS for ASA to 8.5 (asa851-smp-k8.bin) but after copy this soft to the module, I can not "write" command or when I reload this box, everything was no changed.

Please help me upgrade the new software. Thank you in advance!

At the beginning, I didnt see anything from ASA service module bootflash, it's totally avaiable but I still join it to config. show version as you saw above look like "show version" from Router mode.
I can not find any document about the update OS for the first time ASASM start on.

Hi,
I have never used the ASASM as we are moving from its predecessor FWSM directly to other ASA models.
To me it seems you are managing the actual 6504 and have not moved to the ASASM. I would presume like FWSM you will need to form the management connection through the 6504 to the ASASM.
Though later on you can probably directly configure a management connection to the ASASM
