Upgrade ASA5515-SSD120-K9 for Firepower

Hi,

Currently have 2 x ASA5515-SSD120-K9 with PRSM etc and I want to scrap all of that and install FirePower

What licenses etc do I need?

I think I need the following but can anyone confirm:

2 x L-ASA5515-TAMC-3Y

1 x FS-WMV-2-SW-K9

Do I need ASA5515-CTRL-LIC= or does it come with do I need to not worry about this?

Hi

Control +protection license is needed on firepower module.

ASA5515-CTRL-LIC= is one of that but you can contact licensing@cisco.com to verify what your license would include.

For URL filtering or malware , you would need separate license.

You definitely need the CRTL license. that's mandatory.

TAMC is IPS, URL Filtering and Malware protection (full suite). You can choose any one or two of those alternatively and for different terms (1, 3 or 5 years).

The 2 device FirePOWER Manager part number is recommended although you can get by (as of FP 6.0) with just ASDM on the 5515-X platform. I still recommend the FS-VMW though as it is a superior approach operationally.
