Does anyone have some advice on how to configure MRTG to monitor a VPN 3030 concentrator? I'm interested in graphic bandwidth utilization on the public and private interfaces, as well as active connections, IPSec flow, and CPU utilization. I've tried setting up a config myself, using MIBs from the VPN 3000 CD, but the OIDs I found in there cause MRTG errors when running the config. If anyone is doing this and is willing to pass along a sample MRTG config file, that would be fantastic. Thanks!

If your MRTG config file is not setup properly, you'll see errors. You may want to first just poll the VPN3030 directly using any snmpwalk tools (UCD-SNMP is a free ware) to see if you get the desired results. Then look at the MRTG part. Don't have a specific sample file for this issue myself but http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/cisintwk/intsolns/dialsol/nmssol/mrtg.htm can be referred to as a sample/example.

I tried using snmpwalk on a Solaris machine to poll the 3030, but I get the error "snmpwalk: SNMPv2: Commit failed", even if if specify snmp v1. There are no filters on the private interface of the 3030, so that's not the problem. Any suggestions? Thanks.

This gives you active session. NB: have you made and SNMP user account?
