Why "write erase" cannot clear the configuration on ASA5515X

ASA version 9.6(4)20

I tried to use "write erase" + "reload" to clear the configuration of ASA5515X. But after reload, all the configuration is still exist.

Why?

Write erase and reload will erase everything on the ASA

in your case, if that is not working, I would like to see your show version,

do it again the same step, capture all the console output and post here

you can also try the command "asa(config)# clear configure all"

it will reset and wipe all the exiting config on your firewall.
