6509 VLAN Interface Speed

Hi,

I've a question regarding the interface speed from a vlan interface. From which physical interface / module is the interface speed inherited? When I submit the "show interface vlan id" command on our 6509 Sup32 it shows the speed of: BW 1000000 Kbit.

I thought the interface speed is nearly the same as the speed of the supervisory. Isn't it?

The Speed shown is a bandwidth statement only. The actual speed of the SVI is dependant on the capacity of the switch in question.
