SNMP Engine over 80% CPU 100%!!! ?

Hello,

I'm working on Cisco-Network(with Coreswitch Cisco 3750E). Since two weeks the core switch has an utilization of 100% (every ten minutes). The nagios reports the following message: "cisco_load | CPU: 99 99 99 : 99 > 98".

In IOS command: 3750E#show proc cpu

result:

316     8864348    869362      10196 74.49% 77.95% 78.33%   0 SNMP ENGINE

Why the snmp has a load over 70%? Can you help me?

I take this information in a forum:

There are two probable causes for high CPU  utilization occuring in relation to Simple Network Management Protocol  (SNMP):

1. Large route and/or ARP tables being polled by the NMS station

2. Polling certain MIBs

How can I get the #show proc cpu histroy# in real time?

In the in case we need to reset the SNMP engine.

Following are the steps to do so:

get the output of 'sh run | in snmp' save it to a notepad and then do a 'no snmp-server' in the conf t mode.

then check for the output 'show proc cpu | in SNMP'

check the SNMP ENGINE would not be visible.

after a minute add the commands back in the configuration.

and then check and let me know if the CPU utilisation shows any improvement.

I have the same issue as yours. Is there any solution beside reset the SNMP Engine? The solution that more 'safety'? because I have this issue on production device.

i have SW version - WS-C3560X-24       15.0(1)SE3

after enabling SNMP THE cpu RISE TO 100%

i have tried the solution of sh run | in snmp' save it to a notepad and then do a 'no snmp-server' and enabling it again 

and it didnt solve the issue 

can you please advise what else can be done ?
