NSO Developer Studio Explorer and VSCode version

Colleagues,

Could you please share any tricks to make latest VSCode version (like 1.105.1) work with NSO Explorer (version 1.1.1). Latest working VSCode version ~1.96.  With all version after - VSCode isn't able to connect to NSO. Believe MS changed smth inside VSCode, but there is no updated NSO Developer Studio Explorer since end of 2024 (almost for one year).

BR,

Stanislav

We are aware of this issue, and a solution will be available in the next few days. Additionally, we're developing a new VSCode extension that will automate package creation using a wizard-style interface. A proof of concept was presented in May at the Automation Developer Days Conference in Stockholm. https://youtu.be/OY8oWcN122E?si=vX1yiVldGeA2XK_J

Please stay tuned to this discussion—we’ll keep you updated on both the fix and the extension.

@stask also try nsovscode@cisco.com - i am looking at the plugin, https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=CiscoCrossworkNSO.nso-explorer&ssr=false#overview - but the repo points to a GHE (internal), the last update appears to be 28/08/2024.

Thank you. Sent mail to nsovscode@cisco.com . Just qq - how many users use VSCode (and NSO Developer Studio) for NSO development? Do we have any alternatives?

Not sure on that one.

Thank you. If you need beta tester for extension - please let me know 🙂

That is great! I will reach out to you separately.

Hi Nicklas,
Can you add me in the list for beta testers also? thanks Regards. - "TK"

Thank you Nicklas. I can confirm that VSCode 1.108 + Explorer 1.1.2 - works fine.  Dev IDE (1.6.0) seems also ok.

Could you clarify which versions of NSO Developer Studio Explorer and VSCode you are using? Knowing the exact versions helps identify compatibility or integration issues and ensures any guidance is accurate.

last working VSCode one for me 1.96.3, the NSO Developer Studio Explorer - latest available from aug 2024 (1.1.1). With current VSCode (1.105.1) NSO Developer Studio Explorer isn't able to connect to NSO.

It is vscode 1.106.2  and NSO developer studio version 1.6.0

You can keep trying , but it look like the extension just isn't compatible with the latest VSCode build.the safest option to stay on 1.96.3 until the NSO developer studio explorer gets an update the supports 1.105.1 .
