Hi, I have a switch WS-C3560X-48 and I need the newest version from which I cannot download because I'm not authorised. I would like to know why. I have an ongoing migration and I need to update

Hi

 In order to download any software from cisco site you need to have a valid contract associated with your login. If you do have a contract for the device and you can not download, get in contact with Cisco.

There is a legal way to download firmware files from Cisco without a Service Contract.  Here are the steps. 

1.  Go to the download section and find the IOS version you want to upgrade to.  Take note of the complete filename and the web address.  

2.  Read this:  Cisco IOS and IOS XE Software IPv6 DHCP (DHCPv6) Relay and Server Denial of Service Vulnerability

3.  Scroll down to the "Customers Without Service Contracts" section.  Read that very, very carefully. 

4.  Send an email to TAC.  The email should contain the following:

• Serial number of the switch
• The Security Advisory (Step 2)
• Complete filename (Step 1)
• Location where the file is located (Step 1)
