Hello,
I have this situation, we have an existing 2911/K9 router and would like to add an EHWIC-4ESG but since it’s now EOL, I found from the info attached that for four port 10/100/1000 Ethernet switch interface card the replacement product is NIM-ES2-4. Now, we are not sure if this replacement module is compatible with Cisco 2911/K9 Router? What would be my options without replacing our 2911 Router?

Hello @mabary ,
the NIM-ES2-4 is not compatible with the 2900 series. It's designed to work in the ISR 4K. I don't know why the NIM-ES2-4 is listed as a replacement for the EHWIC-4ESG.

You are welcome.
A ISR 4K is a great replacement for the 2900, performance wise. If you have some ISR 4K in your network and thinking of upgrading them with Cisco 8200 or 8300, you can replace the 2900 with the decommissioned ISR 4K.

Thanks for confirming. Looks like we don't have other option other than replacing the router too.

You're so welcome @mabary
Cisco 2911 router reached end-of-life status. Its replacement depends on your specific needs, but Cisco offers a range of newer router models that may suit your requirements. It's best to check Cisco's website or consult with a Cisco representative for the most up-to-date information on replacement options.
