BBC iplayer has stopped working

Yesterday the BBC IPlayer stopped working for us with the following message:

"BBC iPlayer TV programmes are available to play in the UK only. Find out why.

If you are in the UK and see this message please read this advice."

ITV player & Channel4.com still work. 

The dns I have is located in the UK according to several IP geolocation sites. My router is set up to use opendns Home service and we have no trouble accessing anything else.

Why do you think OpenDNS has anything to do with this? The message you pasted in here says nothing about OpenDNS or your DNS provider, nor do either of the links referenced in this message. I'd suggest reviewing each of the items listed in the second link, and seeing whether any of them apply to you. I know nothing about your ISP or where you are located in the world, but I'd say that the most likely reason is that you are either using some sort or VPN or that the IP address your ISP has assigned you isn't registered in the UK.

ITV player and Channel4.com working or not is not relevant unless they also restrict their service only to those located in the UK.

Although you posted two links explaining your problems, it seems you didn't follow them and read and follow what they say there.  Instead you come here to post off-topic stuff, unrelated to OpenDNS.  The same you could have posted it on Facebook or Twitter...

Again, it is because of your IP address they see from you which is unrelated to OpenDNS.  They think you may be located outside of the UK.

See here to find out what your IP address' geolocation is deemed to be:  https://www.iplocation.net/ 
If it looks like you're outside of the UK although you're inside the UK and do not use any kind of VPN or proxy, you have to complain only with BBC IPlayer support, not with anybody else.
