yahoo.com is only tagged as search, although it obviously matches other tags e.g. news and portal. However, I don't seem able to tag it. What's going on?

With most domains you can generally tag that domain with a different tag after it's categorization has been finalized, and continue voting on other categorizations that have not yet been finalized, but yahoo.com isn't displaying that option for some reason.
You could click the "Flag for Review" but reports in here are that that is extremely slow, if there is any response made or action taken at all.
My suggestion would be to open a support ticket, reference this posting and suggest additional tags that could then be voted upon

There's a few "top sites" that are locked down and cannot be re-categorized by the community. Another example of this would be google.com.
+1 for mattwilson9090's suggestion. If you feel that a domain such as this one needs to be corrected in its categorization, please feel free to raise a support ticket with us.

Hello,
Thank you for getting in touch with us at OpenDNS support. As noted on my reply to you in the forums, there's a few "top sites" that are locked down and cannot be re-categorized by the community. Another example of this would be google.com.
However, you can also look into submitting subdomains for categorization - that's something you can do for individual subdomains such as news.yahoo.com
. You can see that it's already currently tagged as such here: https://domain.opendns.com/news.yahoo.com.
I hope that this helps clarify things for you. Please let me know if you have any additional questions regarding this and I'll be glad to help out.
Best Regards,

Unfortunately OpenDNS doesn't allow www as a subdomain, so www.yahoo.com can't be categorised :-(

This is because categorization of example.com is inherited by also all its subdomains, including www. And www subdomains are almost CNAMEs for the root domain anyway.
But www subdmains can be added to the blacklist or whitelist.
