DNS vs WEB IP

Opendns says my IP is 70.126.221.65 however when after 6 hours I get a 198.105.244.228 IP address. Some explain I have a web and a DNS IP.

I did nslookup myip.opendns.com and got 198.105.244.228 which I was told was my DNS that I need to add to OpenDNS but it will not let me. It says 70.126.221.65 is the only one it wants.

How do I fix this because it is causing a mismatch?

Please provide a screenshot of where you are trying to change this and of the "only one it wants" message. When you provide them use the "Attach file" link at the bottom of the page, not some third party file sharing service as many of the readers here have them blocked via our OpenDNS settings.

It will not let me add it now

It won't let you add it because it already exists. To do this kind of thing you change the existing network, you don't create a new one every time. What address is currently listed for your network in your dashboard?

70.126.221.65  After I add the 198.105.244.228 It disappear showed as 0 networks so I am lost.

Then when I tried to re add says it is already there

Open a support ticket with OpenDNS

I did just waiting for someone to email me and someone told me to use a program called Direct update to update my IP

This 198.105.244.228 is apparently a shared IP address, shared for DNS traffic between multiple customers of your ISP.  Another customer has this IP address already registered with his/her OpenDNS dashboard network.  The only thing OpenDNS can do here is to release the IP address, and to block it for further registration with a dashboard network.

That said, it may be that you're out of luck with using the additional features of OpenDNS like stats and content filtering.  And it leaves you with using OpenDNS with default settings or adult content blocked if you use the FamilyShield resolver addresses.

On the other hand this 198.105.244.228 belongs to Search Guide Inc, a company being used by ISPs to make additional money.  They sell your NXDOMAIN results to redirect you to pages with advertisements.  You may call your ISP to opt out of this redirection.
If you cannot opt out, you may try to use the dnscrypt-proxy from http://dnscrypt.org/ to circumvent this restriction.

"It says 70.126.221.65 is the only one it wants."

This was a misinterpretation of you.  It would take every IP address not already registered and not blocked for registration by OpenDNS.

"I did just waiting for someone to email me"

Who would this be?  OpenDNS staff?

"and someone told me to use a program called Direct update to update my IP"

Don't let you make a fool of you!  This may be a spammer trying to sell you Direct Update.  Another Updater does not help, because your issue is in no way related to the updates, but solely to this Search Guide thing implemented by your ISP.

What I meant was my IP is 70.126.221.65 is the IP it notice to be me and would not take the other.

I open a ticket and waiting for someone with OpenDNS to email me.

I am having issues with Family Shield also not working after 6 hrs or so cause of that 198 IP also. Do I need to have an account to use Family Shield? Other words can I just input the IP address in router without having ip setup in dashboard?

Family Shield does not require an OpenDNS account in order to use it's features.

What do you mean that it's not working because of the 198 IP?

It sounds as if your ISP is indeed rerouting your DNS traffic. Like rotblitz said contact your ISP about that, and if they can't or won't do anything about it look into using dnscrypt.

198.XXXX ip disable Opendns. I fixed it then I removed my IP from Opendns dashboard so I should be good to go. I will know i about 6-8 hours.

I ended up getting my own router so I will know in 8 hrs or so if this works. I was having Family Shield stop working too after 8hrs even after I remove my IP from the dashboard. I got a Linksys N900 which is nice.

If your ISP is rerouting your DNS traffic none of this will matter. Regardless of settings in your dashboard, the router you use, or even the DNS addresses you use, your ISP will still be intercepting and rerouting them to the DNS server or their choice, not yours.

Like both rotblitz and I have already said you need to contact your ISP and ask them about this. If they can't or won't do anything about it, and you can't change your ISP you should look into using DNSCrypt

Just to let you now my own router fixed this issue. It has been over 24 hours and no more issue. I guess my ISP Surboard SBG658 router part has issues. I got a Linksys N900 (EA4500) and no issue at all using opendns servers Family Shield or Opendns Home.
