Hello,
I am having difficulty configuring the FamilyShield. I changed the DNS numbers on my router, flushed the DNS resolver cache and also cleared cache on the chrome browser. Restarted the laptop and the router, tested the new settings but it says you are not using Open DNS yet and the internetbadguys.com isn't being blocked. Read the FAQ section but all the info is too technical for me to understand
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Copy & paste the complete plain text output of the following diagnostic commands to here.
nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com.
nslookup -type=txt which.opendns.com. 208.67.222.123
nslookup whoami.akamai.net.

Now when I tested the new settings before running your commands, it said welcome to OpenDNS. Am I good to go? Thank you

You‘re clearly using Comcast‘s DNSv6 service, not OpenDNS. I suggest you configure IPv6 with DNS addresses from this list:
::ffff:d043:dedc ::ffff:d043:dcde ::ffff:d043:dede ::ffff:d043:dcdc

Is there a link for step by step guide to do this? I'm a total newbie.

I am not aware of a link. You may search the Internet for it.
In brief, you fill the DNS server addresses in your IPv6 settings with addresses from the list above.
Answering your other questions:
If you don’t clear caches, your settings may take effect delayed until the cache content expires.
Your router settings will take effect on all connected devices, given that these obtain the network settings from the router automatically via DHCP.

Okay thank you. I'll search on the internet for configuration. Will come back here if I'm still having trouble. I appreciate your help. Thank you so much.

So I configured IPv6 with the first two DNS addresses and here is the text output of the diagnostic commands
Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.18363.657]

C:\Users\ambre>nslookup -type=txt debug.opendns.com.

C:\Users\ambre>nslookup -type=txt which.opendns.com. 208.67.222.123
Server: resolver1-fs.opendns.com

It looks like this is not supported by your router. Better try to disable IPv6 altogether.

Please excuse my dumb questions, but was I supposed to enter the setting on the router (I'm using linksys CG7500)? Cuz I changed the settings on my laptop going into the network connection.

Change it wherever it works for you. As you configured DNS for IPv4 on the router, I assumed you would do it also for IPv6.

My Linksys CG7500 modem/router combo doesn't allow me to change IPv6 manually on the router. Nor does it give me any option to disable it. So I guess I can't have the Familyshield set up :(
Thanks for all your time and help. I appreciate it!

You most likely can use FamilyShield while disabling IPv6 on the computer.
