You would block Pokémon (presumably you actually meant Pokémon Go) the same way you block any other domain you don't want access from your network. In other words you identify the domain or domains association with it, and either block the category or categories they belong to, or individually add them to your blacklist. This can be relatively easy with a website, where at least you can see the domain that's part of a URL, but can be much more difficult with an app. You might be able to research the domains associated with an app on the internet, otherwise you are going to need to some of sniffer or network traffic monitor to attempt to see what domains the app is trying to connect to. Of course that assume that an app is connecting via domains, rather than just IP addresses that are hard coded into it. If IP addresses are hard coded you won't be able to block with OpenDNS but can probably do so via your router.

You enter your question into a search engine, and you'll be finding something like https://www.grahamcluley.com/forum/question/how-block-pokemon and more...
What else?

Thanks,

For entrerise and school, would be great if OpenDns can add an option to do that.

An option to do what? Do your own research for you? Or some sort of button to block a specific app or website?

Why should they do this specifically for pokemon and not the literally millions of other websites and apps that are out there?

This is the kind of thing that an enterprise or school has paid IT staff to do. It should be relatively easy for one of them to do, though if an app is involved they might need to use or borrow multiple mobile devices so they can test the various possibilities and combinations out there.

Indeed, you are absolutely right.

In case anyone was wondering, rotblitz' link refers to pgorelease.nianticlabs.com as the domain you'll want to block to prevent your users from accessing services from this game.

Thanks rotblitz!
