How to set up DNS name servers on computer through phone hotspot WITHOUT High content filtering

Hi,

I signed up for OpenDNS Home primarily looking for faster DNS with moderate filtering. My sole internet source is my phone hotspot, which does not allow for changes to DNS settings. I am using the OpenDNS nameserver settings (208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220) in my macbook network settings. However, this seems to have defaulted to the High content filtering, and will not allow me to visit sites like craigslist. It seems that there isn't a way to set up OpenDNS Dashboard without having a router...? I also tried the OpenDNS FamilyShield nameservers with the same result. Is there a solution to this, or will I have to switch to Google DNS nameservers?

Thanks for the help!

OpenDNS is a service to be used in networks you own, not for your devices in other networks.  It seems another OpenDNS user was successful with registering the shared public IP address of this phone hotspot which he shouldn't have been doing.  Best is to raise a support ticket, link "Submit a request" above, to report this shared IP address to OpenDNS staff.   They will add it to the list of addresses not to be registered with OpenDNS.

"will I have to switch to Google DNS nameservers?"

Why Google's?  There are better DNS services.  But yes, every recursive DNS service not coming with any filtering capabilities based on your IP address would be fine for your purpose.
