Hi,
New french user of open dns, i've tried it on a business site with new account, this site has a static IP,
after more than 24h i've tried to see statistics on traffic but nothing is registered and opendns wait to verify my ip adress.
the website i create in opendns is a remote site from my home where i've done the new account, on my home side i've also a static ip adress, of course this is not the same.
How is it possible to unlock this problem to have full access to settings and traffic statistic.
Thank's a lot for help,
Best regards,
Profwalken

OpenDNS is licensed for home use only. As business you had to go for Umbrella.
https://umbrella.cisco.com/products/packages
Also, normally your IP address does not need verification if you register it from this IP address' source, not from remote.

OK, that's what i was thinking, but before buying something i'd like almost to test if it's good or not for me.
It's not interresting for me to go on site where i want to test opendns, because i do all my settings remotely so it's not a good way for me, if it's the only way to pass the ip verification adress it's not for me.
Too much time to loose for a click on a mail link from the source site.

Sure, no problem. Visit https://umbrella.cisco.com/ and scroll down to:

Btw, you cannot test Umbrella by testing OpenDNS. Only a small part is shared and comparable between the two services. Umbrella has so much more, especially detailed real-time stats which you do not get with OpenDNS.

No, for sure, it's not the only way. You have to wait until the manual verification has taken place. It's just that the IP address is accepted automatically only if it is registered from its source. I don't know how the verification works, but an e-mail you may have received or the website may explain the details. If not, simply raise a support ticket with your desire.
The verification is clearly needed for security reasons to prevent people from registering any believable IP adddress. You should feel more safe and secure too because of this measure. Else I could register your IP address and possibly enforce my policies and get your DNS stats.

You do not need to physically go onsite to register an IP address with OpenDNS. I do it all the time for family and friends. Just take remote control of a computer on that network, with TeamViewer or one of the many other products that do this. Then do the configuration using that computer. Since it is using that site's public IP address the confirmation works immediately, and there is no need for unreliable and insecure email or other slow moving techniques.

Ok but in my case, that's a hotspot gateway for an hotel, so i've no computer to connect to with Teamviewer. if i well understand , the only way to register is to do it from source site or wait for someone doing manual validation in how much days ? for now i think the account exist for almost 4 or 5 days without any change even i have open a ticket for that.

I have never verified an IP address with OpenDNS via email or any way but using a device on the network, whether I was physically present or connected via IP. If you can't or won't find a way to do that then you'll just have to wait.
There may be other options with Umbrella, which is what you need to be using anyway, for the reasons rotblitz stated above (not the same product as OpenDNS Home, and not license for use in a business).
The standard response time for OpenDNS Home tickets is 3 business days, but it can take longer if they have a large volume of tickets to deal with. But as we've said, OpenDNS Home isn't license for what you are trying to do. You need to get an Umbrella trial and start working with that.
